Protein Power

Protein is such an important part of development, and is especially needed during a woman’s pregnancy. Your pregnancy diet should NOT be lacking in this particular category. Here are some foods that are great forms of protein to ensure you and your baby a healthy pregnancy.

**Meats, chicken, beef, pork, etc.

**Fish

***Dairy products

**Dried beans

**Peas

*Tofu

*Eggs

*Nuts, peanuts, cashews, walnuts, etc.

*Pasta

*Bread

* = protein rich foods only

** = also a good source of iron and zinc

*** = also a good source of calcium

Do not overlook such a tasty way to keep your baby healthy. Protein is essential for muscles, bones, skin, tendons, hair, ligaments, and eyes to grow and form. Also, without it in your diet you would lack enzymes and hormones needed for metabolism and digestion!!! So keep your pregnancy diet nice and rich in protein. You will have a healthy pregnancy because of it, and an even healthier baby.
