You Can Get Pregnant After 40

Getting pregnant after 40 may seem like an uphill battle you will never win. But it doesn't have to be. There are things you can do to help your body to become fertile again, shed the infertility treatments, and prove your doctors wrong.

Struggling with infertility is something that can be absolutely devastating to a couple. Longing to have a baby of your own, or to add another addition to your family is something many of us want. And in the world we live in today, where both partners work, having a family can sometimes take a backseat until later in life.

A woman over 40 is at higher risks for all kinds of things. Most commonly genetic disorders in the baby, down syndrome being the most common. But you are also at a higher risk for other things, such as multiple births! This could be a positive or a negative depending on what you and your husband are hoping for.

When a woman has issues getting pregnant, the first step is usually to find out if she is ovulating. Once that has been determined, if ovulation is not happening, or is infrequent then drugs such as Clomid are prescribed.

Clomid is a drug that can help you to become pregnant after 40. It is also a drug that can increase your chances of cervical cancer 3x's that of a woman who has never taken fertility drugs. Sometimes the quick fix, isn't the best answer.

If Fertility Treatments Aren't The Answer...What Is?

The best thing you can do for yourself to increase your chances of becoming pregnant after 40, is to treat the cause of the problem naturally! And in order for you to do that, you need to understand what the problem is, how it is affecting you, and what are the steps to take to fix it. One of the best sources for doing just this, is The Pregnancy Miracle .

Other Natural Tips For Conceiving

1.) Charting - If you aren't doing so already, you need to be charting your BBT (basal body temperature) and tracking your fertility signs. Recording your cervical mucous daily and your BBT will help you to accurately determine when you are ovulating and can even be a good indicator if you are pregnant.

2.) Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPK's) - Using ovulation tests will also help you determine with precise accuracy when ovulation is occuring, to increase your chances of getting pregnant after 40. OPK's work by testing the amount of LH (luteinizing hormone) in your system each day of your cycle. The best way of using OPK's is to test once a day starting around CD 10 (cycle day 10) and then testing twice per day when you are getting close to when you ovulate. Some women have short LH surges, and you do not want to miss it, which is why testing twice per day is recommended.

3.) Supplements such as Fertilaid for Women, Fertilaid for Men, and FertilCM (fertile cervical mucous) can also be great supplements to add to your diet. Besides these 3 supplements that are great for couples who are trying to conceive, you need to be sure you are taking a multivitamin daily, as well as extra folic acid. Having your progesterone levels tested isn't a bad idea either. If you have low progesterone there are many things that can help raise the level. You can get wild yam cream, progesterone supplements, suppositories, etc.

Did YOU Know???

Did you know that drinking soft drinks can drastically reduce your chances of becoming pregnant?

Caffeine and sodium overload! You also want to be sure both you and your husband avoid overheating...which means no hot tubs or saunas while trying to conceive. Another tip is to avoid consuming soy. Although soy has been used in fertility treatments for years, soy is extremely dangerous to the human body. It acts as an estrogen and causes things to grow. That means if you are trying to get pregnant after 40 and have cysts, or endometriosis, you could only be making the problem worse by including soy into your baby making process.

The Pregnancy Miracle is our number one pick for Naturally Curing Infertility Issues...even for a woman who is 40+ years old.
